Playback lets you review recorded footage from a vehicle after an event has happened.
This is the workflow to use when you need to investigate an incident, validate a complaint, inspect vehicle activity, or prepare material for follow-up.
- reviewing a reported incident
- checking what happened before and after an event
- locating the right recording window for export or reporting
- validating information from operations, support, or security teams
- Open the relevant vehicle in OEC.
- Navigate to the recordings or playback area.
- Select the date and time range you want to inspect.
- Open the relevant recording.
- Switch to the web player when you need more detailed review tools.

A good playback session usually follows this pattern:
- identify the approximate time of the event
- open the nearest recording window
- confirm which camera gives the best view
- move backward and forward to capture the full sequence
- note the exact timestamps you may need later
When the footage matters for an investigation, record:
- vehicle number
- recording date
- start and end time of the relevant sequence
- which camera or cameras show the event clearly
- whether the next step is export, reporting, or support follow-up
If playback is not available as expected, check:
- the vehicle was recording at the time you selected
- the camera you need was active
- your account has access to that vehicle and recording set
- the time zone in your profile is correct
